adult education offerings
First Church strives
for Adult Education offerings that are illuminating, inspiring, and
insightful. Offerings include:

"Christianity 101" team-led by the Pastor Judith
Kinley and select deacons (Sundays from October 7
through November 25, 2007) also (Sundays from April 6, 2008 from
noon - 2:00) A soup and bread luncheon will be served.

Weekly Bible Study - a study of the Sunday
lectionary passages led by Minister-in-Training Carolyn Bellany (Wednesday
evenings 7:00 - 8:00 pm)

"WomanSpirit - An opportunity for women of the
church to participate in a group where there will be sharing,
study, support, celebration and prayer. The Rev. Sue Bowman will
help the group to get started and then leadership will be shared
and rotated. The first study book around which the group will
revolve is The Story of Ruth: Twelve Moments in Every Woman's
Life by Joan Chittister. Books are available in the church
office. (Mondays starting January 7, 2008)

"Unbinding the Gospel" - based on the book by the
same name by Martha Grace Reese, this class is a follow up to a
previously offered class entitled "Difficult Conversations." Class
members define and learn the value of evangelism, with a small "e".
(Sundays, noon - 1:30, starting January 13 through March 9, 2008) A
soup and bread luncheon will be served. This class will be repeated
in the fall with an expanded group, culminating in attendance of a
workshop on the topic, given by the book's author on November 15,
2008.
